Osage Beach, MO: Man charged in October Mace Road stabbing death

An Osage Beach man faces a first degree murder charge in the the October death of a 21-year-old woman. Gregory Lucas George, 23, has been indicted in the death of Adrianna Hyten.
On Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 firefighters and EMT's found Hyten lying dead on the living room floor of her apartment at 1167 Mace Road. An initial autopsy revealed that Hyten died from stab wounds.
Police took George into custody on the same day they began investigating the Hyten death. George was living with Hyten in the apartment at the time of her death. The two worked together at the Osage Beach Steak n' Shake. Hyten died around 3 a.m. on Oct. 10. George called police at 11:21 a.m., telling officers he had just come home and "found her lying" in the living room.
Officers arrested George, a registered sex offender, for violating conditions of his probation from a previous criminal conviction.
Detectives waited for test results of forensic evidence collected at the scene of Hyten's death. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab tested the material.
George faces one charge of first degree murder and one charge of armed criminal action. He is being held in the Camden County jail without bond.

• Surveillance video shows George went to El Rancho Truck Stop in Eldon at 5:16 a.m.
• At 11:21 a.m., George called 911 to report that this roommate was dead.
• Osage Beach Police Det. Kevin Friend interviewed George at 2:20 p.m. Friend determined that some of George's statements about his activity that morning were false.
• Detectives found Hyten's blood and DNA on the driver's seat of George's vehicle.
