SOUTH BEND — The trial for a 25-year-old man accused of murdering his girlfriend has been postponed until May.
Brice L. Webb was set for trial later this month in the death of his girlfriend Cherlyn Reyes, 21.
Reyes was found dead on the bathroom floor Oct. 9 in the South Bend apartment she shared with Webb. Court documents revealed Webb had a history of violence against the woman.
Webb’s attorney asked the judge for more time today to go over evidence submitted by the state and to also resolve another pending case.
A new trial for Webb was set for May 10.
Prosecutors at today’s hearing also discussed the potential of filing additional charges against Webb related to being a habitual offender.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
